whats a good auto-ranging DMM under maybe $30? if possible
obv I only capacitance, resistance, continuity and voltage. But my current one doesn't do cap :/

I've been using the auto ranging one second from bottom for about 3 years and it's been doing alright. It's really small which always makes it hard to locate in the mess of my workspace though. There's probably better ones out there but it's cheap and cheerful.

I just saw you can get the same model from deal extreme for 15 shipped, but shipping wise it's probably as slow and unreliable as futurlec.

I don't know what you're using now, but I'd probably recommend holding off until you can drop $50ish on an Amprobe or Extech or something. Or, even better, watch eBay for a used Fluke.

Just be sure to check the specs on anything you buy to make sure it measures everything in the range you want. (I'd add current down to about 1mA/.001A and diodes to your list, by the way!)

right now i'm using a way cheap one I found at the local electronics surplus store. cost me all of $4!
imma order the one from futurelec I think then down the road when I can afford/justify a Fluke imma get that.
for now I just need to be able to see if my capacitors are accurate in series and parallel
