How do you put your effects in order.......

I have a pretty general setup, now that ive sold a bunch of my stuff. But I will order alot of stuff soon. Most notably I was wondering where do you put your tuner pedal? Ive always had it at the beginning but now am thinking of putting it at the end, for some reason it annoys me so far on the left.

Guitar->Fuzz->Delay->Fuzz->Amp

Why do you stick the delay right in between the fuzzi. Delay is one thing Im constantly moving around.

Tuners go first or last...last preferred if you are using a buffered tuner (like a boss tu2). Really just preference though.

Dirt goes near the front. mods and delays near the back. the rest is once again preference

Best advice is play with your chain and do what sounds best to you. (or give us your exact setup so we can get specific about recommendations :haha: )

I put delays/reverbs at the end of the chain.
I put modulation/tremolo between my fuzzes (that way I can choose between it being before or after a fuzz) but thats preference.
Pitch shifting stuff (octave multiplexer,bluebox, digital pitch shifters) I put before my fuzz.
Wahs go at the very beginning for me.

Those are my rules of thumbs.

Mine changes from time to time, but usually
fuzz/dist > boost/od > mod (sometimes in series, sometimes in parallel) > DB > coloration (Bass exciter, Blue tube, Buffalo this changes too) > amp.
Some times I'll put a Univibe or chorus at the beginning because of the way it is effected and wah usually goes first, but some times after fuzz/dist and some times both.
I also like to run multiple chorus or delay in parallel.
If you like how it sounds it's gotta be right.

Tuner -> pitch shifter -> crazy fuzz -> tamer crazy fuzz -> feedback loop (phase -> tame delay -> flange) -> chorus -> crazy delay -> overdrive. But that's just me.

sorry this so so keyboard-centric!
[wurlitzer] > rangemaster > fuzz > DL4 > analog delay > fuzz > reverb > (gemini 1x15)
[ms2000] > analog delay > fuzz > DL4 > digital delay > (fender tube PA)
[yamaha vss30] > fuzz > LPF > volume pedal > reverb > (fender tube PA)
[roland rs-09] > pitchshifter > fuzz > VCF > reverb > octave fuzz > (direct)

my rigs i use in my band. i sometimes change up the chain on the rs-09 (which is an organ/string synth) and the ms2000... depending on my mood and how much gear i feel like hauling. this much is already a LOT... :facepalm:

i've tried lots of different combinations and some things work better certain ways/you need a specific sound on a particular song/whatever. whatever works and sounds good to you, really. as far as tuner pedals go, i've used them at the front of the chain rather than the end...

Tuner as close to the beginning of your chain as possible, if not first, so it gets the completely unaltered signal from your guitar.

I like to have something fucking with the repeats, it's usually a crazier fuzz. :rock:

That's correct. :thumb:

The general rule of thumb is: Distortion/Fuzz> Modulation > Delay.

It's all subjective anyways, because it all depends on what sounds right to your ears. :cool:

im about to assemble my pedal board and i'd like to ask for some help regarding this too. :)

my pedals are:
korg pitch black,boss sd2, boss rc2, boss ps3, boss dd3, boss re20 space echo, custom BSIAB high gain, Custom boss ce2 clone,
EHX micro pog and finally, im trying to get a devi ever shoe gazer :)

im generally after ambient and shoegaze-ish sounds but i'd also like to have defined notes while the dirt peds are on since i tend to use a lot of jazz and broken chords.

thanks! any input would greatly be appreciated :thumb:

Git Box-->Tuner-->Pitch Shifter-->POG-->Space Echo-->High Gain ( I don't know what that is)-->Chorus-->Delay-->Looper-->Amp

The Space Echo on a reverb setting before your dirt should give you some Shoegaze/Ambient tonez. You could also put the Ps-3 after the delay for some fun sounds.

:idk: That's what I would do anyways.
