That looks slick... they going for a sort of computer-aided MPC?

Yep....and they claim you can do everything from the controller without having to use the mouse or the keyboard.

Plus, especially with the ed discount it is cheaper than any of the pc's.

And it will integrate as a plug-in to DAW's.

This is bad-ass.

Nice! I want to learn to use an MPC, been listening to a lot of Dilla recently.

I like Dilla.

Prefuse 73 drives an MPC like a Dune Buggy. He is another favorite.

I've been an avid MPC-2000xl user for years now. I use it heavily in my band, both on our record, and live. (When we perform live, I play the MPC by hand with no sequencing or loops, acting as the drummer and also triggering guitar samples, etc.)

Before that, I used a rack sampler and sequenced on computer. I got the MPCs to get away from the computer. So, something like the Maschine doesn't really appeal to me so much. :idk:

So...how did this work out for you? The new update looks like it added some useful features.

Seriously considering pulling the trigger. I always have my laptop handy so the whole "you can't use it without a pc" is a non-issue for me.
$370-ish shipped doesn't seem too bad...it seems I have a while before the warhorse will be ready
