so my buddy wants to start a hardcore punk band

I was thinking of playing an HM-2 into some kinda fuzz, what'd you dudes suggest?



this is really just an excuse to buy a new fuzz

Hm-2 into Big Muff is great-- not really a punk sound though. The Hm-2 on its own should probably be adequate.

does you amp have a series fx loop?

as stupid as this sounds...(depending on how committed to the hm-2 chainsaww sound) try it out in the amps fx loop.
ive had good results (depending on the amp) with going guitar -> hm2 ==>fx return
or guitar into clean or crunchy setting on the amp, with hm2 in the loop

I think HM-2 into Rat would sound pretty badass for a trashy punk sound.

I would think something a little more low gain with a good EQ would sound good.
Dr. Scientist Elements and Smallsound/Bigsound Mini come to mind. Maybe even a Rat Tail set to lower gain.

You should pair it with an fz-2, I bet that'd be heinous.

awhile back i paired it with another hm-2, it was rad.

HM-2s are pretty noisy and fuzzy. I wouldn't run them into anything high gain. Just use the HM-2 on its own, or goose it with a TS like johnnyc said.
