So I just scored a mid -fi glitch computer so I can do some synthy bass parts in my loops. Well fuck this think is amazing and works way better than I thought it would. Anyways this thing gets so low on my high e string it sounds like a bass on low e with fuzz. FUCKING awesome!!!' However I started thinking o boy that's some low Notes. When I got to seriously thinking about it I was wondering if this is something I should use carefully(I don't wanna blow an amp with low frequencies ) so what's y'all opinions? Totally safe to rip on all strings with no worry? Or should I be carefull and try to stick to my higher strings?

You'll never blow an amp with low frequencies but you may wanna pay mind to those speakers...

Yeah, if you don't mind blowing speakers/money, you're all good.

It isn't low frequencies that breaks guitar speakers, it's the ATTACK of the low frequencies.

So octave dividers are fine. Just don't play slap-style on a P-Bass through a guitar cab.

Ahhh sweet!! Thankyou!!!! I was just wondering cause when I go lower than the d string things get so crazy low it barley comes out, so I was wondering if its the pedal glitching or my amp saying fu. Here's the thing about a two-octave down fuzz:

Two octaves below the low E on a guitar is a note that resonates at about 20hz, the lower limit of human hearing. You can barely hear this note and guitar (even most bass) speakers aren't really built for reproducing sub-harmonic content.

this is why running an ss amp to the point of clipping can be dangerous (sometimes). the squarewave "pushes" the speakers very hard compared to tube clipping or an OD/mellow fuzz, which have more gradients in between peaks and valleys blah blah blah. w/o an output transformers you're running way more voltage on the speaker. like punching straight out into a face compared to waving your arm in a goofy way and then maybe pinching a cheek.

The glitch computer is fucking amazeballs, I always wished more people gave it a shot. And it doesn't just do the crazy glitchy stuff either. If you turn the tracking knob all the way up, it really doesn't glitch much at all, and it sounds like a ballsier, fuzzier Blue Box.

As Garden was saying, the open E on a guitar is only one octave higher than a bass, and the GC goes two octaves down, so you're actually going an octave below a bass, which is really fucking low. I'd be suprised if your speakers are actually reproducing the fundamental, but since it's fuzzed out, I'm sure there are some higher harmonics on there as well, which is probably what you're actually hearing when you play that low.

i have a bass amp in my guitar rig for this
-1 0ctave and dry signal about 50/50
some times ill go full -1oct in bass am
and full + 1 octave in the guitar amp
only time i use 2 down is mixed with dry for growl
stayed away from it with just the guitar amp
not sure if anything wouldve happened
but did manage to shatter the metal dustcap on an 18" peavey tnt speaker
it just started falling apart

i cant even express how much i love this pedal.

This. I think this is a super versatile pedal.
