Who are some bands that take ugliness and make it pretty? Or the other way around...I've my own ideas, but I've exhausted those avenues, having listened to those bands to death. So go ahead, perform a little sonic alchemy and turn a turd into a gold bar.

Yes, precisely. Ugly sheets of clangy nastiness turned into melody. Conversely, beautiful, warm-toned things twisted into something grotesque are likewise encouraged. I will give the videos in your post a listen, pending a nap!
