Cocked wah tone//Rolling Tone knob back.
What capacitor value would I want to use to get a cocked wah kinda sound when rolling the tone knob all the way back? I'm playing a boring ass strat with single coils, if that means anything.

Have you tried using just your bridge pup with tone back? I know I can get that sound with my tele like that...but it's closer to the toe down sound than heel down.

I get a pretty sweet sound, using positions 2 and 4 of the strat w/ the middle pickup tone rolled back. Was just wondering if people were doing other stuff to accomplish such sounds in their gits. I remember some dude on Harmony Central posting pictures of what he did with his guitar, and it had a FAT electrolytic in it. Can't find that thread anymore, though....

These articles helped me out quite a bit. Different pickups need different caps, long story short.

Yeah it's caps... There are several to choose from for different Wah sounds, Vox, Cryboobie, Jen etc...

Also, in my experience, I get the best cocked wah tones out of humbuckers in the bridge with the tone rolled all the way off. Is your Strat switching such that the bridge single coil gets combo'ed into a humbucker in certain positions?

Oh, that's a pretty sweet way of doing testing thangs. Thanks for the links.
Also, I don't believe it goes humbucker in 2 and 4, 'cuz it sounds like Dire Straits/quintessential strat sound.

Fuck this just made me think of having a guitar / bass with a built in resonant filter, controlling the cut-off with the tone knob
