Sibling vs. Grand Orbiter

I really need a phaser and I've been looking at getting the Sibling or the Grand Orbiter.

I tried searching the forum and found some opinions on the two but nothing conclusive and nothing really comparing the two.
I play blues to heavy rock to just straight up noise.

So yeah, recommend me a phaser, preferably out of the two, and definitely in the $200 range.

What exactly are you looking for in a phasor?

EDIT: I realized neither of these are "blues to heavy rock to straight up noise" like I said in my first post. So I guess I was being a little vague there. Sorry about that. But yeah, this is kind of what I'm going for. I love the phase/riff in Have a Cigar; it has got to be one of my all time favourite songs.

Well greenwood used a small stone, and I believe the sibling is based off that, rather than the orbiter which is a souped up phase 90
I would go with the sibling

Yes, idero-son. I have another quasar on the way as we speak! I have never found a phaser to replace what I loved about it

Yep, Sibling is the way to go in this case, methinks.

Pink Floyd is more like a vibe I'd say and Radiohead definitely sounds like a Small Stone.
For those two sounds I'd go with a vibe instead of a phaser really because a vibe can easier mimic the sound of the Small Stone than vice versa I think.
Maybe an Earthquaker Devices The Depths?
Or a VFE Enterprise, that's basically a totally souped up Phase 90 that can do both positive and negative resonance (to get into Small Stone territory), has a nice vibe sound in it and a great vibrato to boot, love that thing! (there's one in BST now by the way)
The Sibling and Grand Orbiter are both OTA based from what I read, so they could be Small Stone like, the Grand Orbiter is supposed to be a bit more DOD / Ross style, that said in my opinion if you want a Small Stone then it's best to get a Small Stone.
I have a Quasar DLX and I tried the Empress Phaser extensively (I use that random thing quite a bit), from all the phasers I tried I haven't heard a better phaser than a Small Stone or Phase 90 really (apart from the VFE Enterprise).
If you want that vintage sound, get that vintage sound and get the real thing or something that really mimics it, that's what I'm trying to say. ;)

Yeah I've basically already decided I'm getting the EQD Depths. I love how it sounds. Maybe I'll just wait until I get that and have played it a bit then I'll decide on a phaser.

However, I've been looking at the Small Stone now and I do love the simplicity of it and it does sound great. Maybe if I can find one cheap I'll buy it to tide me over until the Depths is available.

Also the quasar does look awesome but it's way over my budget and a little too complex for me. I love simple pedals.

Backing off the depth on the sibling gives you vibeish sounds
I've owned both and stuck with the sibling.

As everyone mentioned, Jonjon used a Small Stone (V3) on that OKC. The V3 isn't as "strong" of an effect as later Small Stones.

As such, I think that the Sibling would be the thing to go after. It can get vibe sounds, and it'll be able to get 90's Greenwood phase sounds, but when you turn up the depth knob it'll also give you all of the options of more recent Small Stones and other phasers.

And asking since it's Small Stone flavored, no interest in the Whetstone? Too big/much?

Yeah as much as I would love the Whetstone it's definitely a bit pricy. It's one that I'd probably get eventually though, but I just think I'd prefer something smaller, cheaper, and simpler.
