Amp Tech and Luthier Reference Thread

Post by ryan summit »

Please list your amp and guitar techs here
where theyre located
what they did for you or your friend
tubes/wiring/caps/nuts/setup/leveling/paint job/custom shniz
even/especially if theyre no good
also if you shipped talk about that some too

phone numbers and info probably on pm basis
unless they work for a shop
free advertizing is a plus
but posting someones home address/number
may not be smart
maybe if this fills up we can do a map

Shit dude what broke? please tell me it's not the ACC.

I do my own work, and so far so good. I've recapped, changed cords to 3 prong, installed ne fuze holders, fixed loose or damaged wiring, cleaned up and re done a tube socket that was arcing. Pretty much just old tube amps. Earth, Montgomery ward, Sunn, and a soundtronics.

YAY!, I loved that thing. Well I guess not so yay cause you still have an amp issue. I think this is a great idea though, will you keep the op updated with everything?

yeah ill make some regioal sections
we got an idea for the 150
replace the trem speed pot with a jack
and hook a treadle up to it
never seen it done
but should work
thats for another thread
if your lurkin this thread
and someones set up yer guitar
just post it
help your homeys out

so first submission by jeff-7
hows that layout
instead of your name i can just put the post #
(scratch that,no post #s can do page #s)
so if the persons interested
they can scroll to that post
lemme know
wanna make this as user friendly as possible
im not going to update the op with negative feedback
but i think this is a good place for warnings

Walter at Alpha Music in Virginia Beach, VA is the man when you need something done to yr guitar. He posts on Talkbass a lot too, mostly in the electronics section.

Dave Fecca of Fecca Guitar Repair based out of Moorestown, NJ. Amazing setups, prices, and work. Turn-around time isn't a day, because he does it right. Allows for temperature adjustments. Pays attention to every little detail, and when you pick up your guitar he finishes fine tuning it right in front of you until it is how you would like it to be. I get my acoustic and electric setups there and haven't found anybody that truly cares about guitars and the craft of lutherie as much as Dave does. If you're in the Tri-State area visit his site www.feccarepair.com and give him a call.

All of these are in the Bay Area:
-King Amplification: did some repairs on my Mesa amp. Super professional.
-SF Guitarworks: fixed my Jazzmaster's bridge
-CB Perkins: family owned shop. Outstanding customer service and ridiculously fair prices. They're my go to luthier.
