i need a locking trem to play the music i want, but i don't want a different guitar really. How do i do this with no experience in routing bodies. I assume i could find a tech but that could be scary. Ideally i would put in an Ibanez ZR tremolo because i like them much better than floyds, but could i even buy one separately?

There are a ton on ebay... I would have someone that knows what they are doing route it cause it's taking a lot out of the front and back...

Yeah, def not a DIY project I'd consider tackling with little to no experience and proper tools. That sounds way scarier than finding a qualified luthier to knock it out.

or just like...put a kahler on. Theyre way easier to install and also not as shit of a bridge....also you dont have to rip the nut up.

Also they have that little screw that turns them into a fixed bridge. Also they kinda make you tone sparklyyyyyyy.

I'm a floyd fan, Maybe I've been missing out? A well tuned flyd is a thing of beauty IMO, but....
I would not alter a neck for a floyd setup if it was not made for that. It can be done, and I have done it and made it work but I think you are better off getting a guit thats meant for it from the get go or routing the body and getting a new neck. Esp with fenders you need to add wood to make it perfect and that can be a pita especially considering you dont want to cover the truss rod access. also I am drunk so my thoughts may be incvalid
