everytning is too loud

I'm at my new place now... no more carpet, hardwood floor everywhere, etc.
The sound of my amp is fuller but also louder.
As much as I lower the volume knob of the amp, it always feel too loud and I don't want to annoid my new neighboor.

Does an attenuator is what I need?

Man, the majority of my house is wood floors and ceramic tile and I def know the feeling of things being way loud. I finally finished the basement and put some carpet and soundproofing in to help prevent noise complaints.

As for attenuators, I've never had much luck. Always used a THD Hotplate and to get any attenuation at all, you really had to dial that up until the tone sounded thin and fizzy and shitty. There's others, the Weber and Bad Cat makes one with adjustable Ohm/load settings which is very nice. Still, I feel they just barely take the edge off a loud amp, won't really quiet things down so your neighbors won't complain if you're using a loud amp. Oh, you tend to chew through power tubes way faster with an attenuator as well, just from driving 'em so much harder and soaking up all that extra volume.

Maybe time for a 5-10W amp syl, then get to soundproofing a single room in your new abode and you'll be all good. Btw, CONGRATS on the new place, happy for you buddy!

My amp is a 15w.

For cleans it's ok, but for fuzz, I'll probably have some complains if I cannot lower the volume.

Haha, shit!

Well, you may have better luck with an attenuator then, I always had mine on 50W or 100W amps. Look into soundproofing eventually tho, it's not too terribly expensive and you can do the work on your own. :thumb:

Decouple it from the floor with a stand or a piece of carpet on a stand, if it's open back get some Auralex tiles to put behind or around it for a baffle... Have you talked to the neighbors??? Make a loop of what you think is loud and got outside and see if you can hear it or go next door while it's playing and see if it's really as loud as you think... I always have my windows open and always warn the neighbors but I usually find that what I think is loud while I'm in the room really isn't that loud outside or next door...

Yeah! Maybe it's not that loud. I'll go see the neighboor to see if the hear me (later, caus all of this moving made me sick).
The place is already soundproof concrete in the floor and walls.

It sound so different from the other place... When I first plugged the guitar, it feel like there where way too much reverb too... there's more life in this place.

My amp is already on a stand I made myself... a carpet underneat it would be a good idea.

usually no matter how low i play
i feel its way too loud
yeah especially when the badascan goes on
not so much i feel the noise bothers anyone
its the horrble playing
i gotta learn some hippie/antique store songs
not everyones a fan of divebombing oscillation
id say grab some of hat egg crate foam
but shit is expensive
making a baffle with fiberglass insulation is pretty easy
theres some vids on youtube how to do it
but i can give you some tiparoos if you want
family fun day project style

Yeah, I just moved myself.
I looped a little noise and turned it to point where I was like, this might be too loud.
shut the door, walked around the hall way, went down stairs, went outside, listened by the open windows. Nothing.
I'm still a little edgy about pissing off the people below or above me. I don't know if I live above librarians or this place is just really good at blocking noise.
time will tell I guess...

Some rugs and heavy curtains will help immensely with the reverb
