And is it as cool as the bubbling gas in my soul thinks it is?

The demos I've seen look awesome. Probably not the best choice for the blues lawyers crowd but for textural shit it looks fucking amazing.

I've wanted the lap-steel version for the longest time. But today when I went to their web page, it looks like they stopped making any more. :(

If I had the money to see if they had any in stock would be one thing, but now I think I'll never own that beast...would have been so awesome to control my modular through the midi, play drones with the Moog lopass filter, endless sustain that would but Nigel Tufnel to shame, etc. Drat.

I think it and a looper would be the coolest minimal setup ever.

Paul Vo the maker of the guitar has a kickstarter for a cool acoustic design that's similar to the Moog guitar.

I think V_____ has/had one...
They did discontinue them earlier this year. Major bummer. Always wanted to try one out.

I saw that a while back. I would LOVE if it worked with my Dobro, but I kinda doubt it would.

I have to hope that these stay off the cool gear list and i see one for sale when I have the money. :idk:

Anyone try a Fernandez Sustainer? I think they end up amplifying the harmonics, so you start to loose the fundamental frequency and it end up sounding more like amp feedback than the Moog guitar's sustain.

I had one and it was fucking cool but the built quality was a real bummer.
Its like 3K new IIRC, I got it for 1,500 used and it felt like a cheap korean 200$ fender, i also had problems getting it free from fret buzz...

That was bugging me so hard that i got rid of it to wait for some kind of moog pickup developer kit so other builders are able to hook up their guitars with this amazing technologie...

Bahahaha, just, what? Look at this shit.

Bummer about the quality issues, Kayzer.
I hope that's not how they were across the board.

Pretty sure I would kill myself if I had to replace the electronics on that.

I'd love to get my hands on a Moog guitar some day. I could see it having all kinds of uses for Frisellian style noodling.

I've got a Maniac Music Sustainiac that does all that sustain stuff - but somehow more organic (more like actual feedback) and you can switch between harmonic emphasis with your feet.
Course you've got to bolt a magnet onto your headstock - but at least you can do it to a nice-playing guitar.
I think the sustain-sucking aspect of the Moog gtr is very interesting...
