How do you guys do decals?

I just used some clear decal paper from Staples and printed them. They sort of look good, but some of them don't at all.
How do you guys do your pedal decals? Do you guys use waterslide decals?
Also, how do you do decals on darker colored pedals like black? I have a 1590B that's sparkle black, but as a printed can't print "white" ink, I can't get a decal to show well on it. Any tips? Thanks, gents!

Two test decals. I've noticed the labels work best on solid colors and not so well on the sparkle colors.

I use waterslide but I don't really like it. Hoping to got to screen printing soon. As for labels on black, try using a yellow that is close to white. Or if you have photoshop, the "stroke" effect on the text will allow you to put color around the text, so you can leave it clear or black or whatever, but the outline will be a different color. Like this. (I know it's not black, but you get the idea)Image
