Enormous Door Octave Fuzz, Badass for bass?!?!?!?!?!?

Just saw it on their FB via Discofreq. There's only a handful of demos on their site as of now and only one for bass, and even though it's live, sounds pretty legit
. I know these guys aren't huge on here cuz of price to offer ratio but this thing sounds pretty massive. Hope they get it in more capable bass demoer hands, would definitely like to hear a direct recording too.

The graphic design is beautiful but $250 is bullshit.

Yeah, I'm definitely with you there. Maybe since they claim it's an original circuit? I'm not a builder so I don't know what goes into everything from a ground up perspective. Maybe once Dirge gets bigger they'll be forced to change their ways

The tone machine is similar to a BMP mixed with a Superfuzz minus the notch switch.
This has roots in alot of pedals that are similar sounding but this is way less shrill and has sub octave throughout the tone knobs sweep. Way more pronounced octave effect, way heavier tone. Those FTM reissues were nice but a little thin sounding for me due to non period correct transistors.
For the JINN I hand matched over 5000 transistors to exacting HFE(Gain range, it does make a huge difference in frequency response in Octave fuzz designs) and tested 40 different models before I found the spec I liked and made the bulk buy.
The JINN also has custom spec NOS GE clipping only found in this pedal, and the LED clipping is set to not sound loose and janky.
As for it being 250$, Look at other pedals out there that are similarly priced. I dont think what we ask for a true hand wired pedal is too out of the ballpark these days considering what goes into all of these....
It sounds pretty killer for heavy doom stuff, and the octave being on a footswitch really adds a level of flexibility I hadnt seen in other pedals out there.

You should put some of that on your site in the bullet points. So its an octave up/down? Do you select the octave with the second footswitch?

Video demos showing at least the basic differences with all the switches on these pedals would go a long way. They certainly look classy as fuck.

Octave up fuzz that still retains the low end instead of turning pure treble.
I wasnt taking offense to the responses at all.
There are alot of things alot of pedal makers haven't tried doing yet, When designing the pedals tone wise, I do alot of things most people have been hesitant to try, or havent thought of.
Hybrid Silicon clipping, Hybrid germanium clipping, Matched Germanium hybrid clipping, hand tested batches of op amps as these days its easy to get swindled and end up with rebranded fakes, case in point, Bucket Brigade delay IC scammers on Ebay.
Thats why you dont see anyone except EHX and a handfull of pedal makers selling true Analog delays, only analog voiced PT2399 loaded delays.
Ive want to release a germanium transistor lead boost/fuzz but due to not being 100% happy, and 100% able to secure a steady parts source for the transistor part #s I like that has been put on the back burner, sure, I could throw some random PNP bulk bagged transistors in there to market, but thats not what we decided to make audio gear for.
At the end of the day though, all tone is subjective, and not all sounds one person may like are what another person may like in a design.
Simply offering up our take on what we decided sounded the best, and offering up options unlike anything else on the market.
We just hope people who play and purchase our units enjoy them and are inspired to create.

My wallet situation is fine I just think $250 is way too much. Props on screening the enclosures and shit though. At least you arent charging that for sticker boxes. Although all the makers on this board offer "true hand wired" pedals and most of them come in at much more reasonable prices. Maybe youll get along better on tgp.

I've played them and they RAWK and you'd think that people that pay STUPID prices for shiny metal guitars and silly "Custom" amps and cabs would appreciate a well designed and well made pedal...
This is why we can't have nice things and end up dirt rollin with Boss'...
