White Light/Black Eye on Bass

Last night someone on here offered me both a White Light and a Black Eye for decent prices. I won't mention who so no one runs and buys them on me. I'm really interested in the White Light, but the Black Eye has me intrigued because I love boost pedals. The only problem is that I haven't read much on the internal trimmer that sets the gain. Just how much gain can you squeeze out of it? I know it's a clean boost, but if I was playing through just the Black Eye into a clean amp, would I notice any grit (similar to the Phat Phuk B)?

My question regarding the White Light is how does this thing sound on bass? It sounds incredible on guitar, but I have yet to see a single review regarding how it sounds on bass. I know a handful of you on here own one, but do any of you own a bass to try it out with? Sure, I could just buy it and flip it if I don't like it, but I'd rather just find out beforehand!

If anyone could help me out, it'd be greatly appreciated. I'll totally buy you a cold beverage (what kind depends on your age) if my band plays in your area.

I suppose I could have posted this under the gear section, but it seems appropriate to drop it here.

I never tried the White Light on bass when I had it, but I think it would probably most likely sound okay due to it's Distortion+ 250 roots

I'd basically be using it as a boost/light overdrive, so it should be able to do the trick. If not, I'm going to rag on Dirge products and tell everyone how much they suck. :bear:

When I had my Phat Phuk B, I set the internal trimmer to be dirty as fuck. I used that for my "clean" tones, then engaged another pedal for the rest of the song. I sold the PPB because I wasn't using it at the time and I'm an idiot.

Now I've got a bunch of pedals I want to sell and they're going nowhere. :(

I run a bass into the White Light then straight into my computer and it sounds great...put the comp switch to +, turn the weight full on and put the gain anywhere...tightens things up nicely!

I've never tried a bass into a White Light, but I saw the bass player from The Velvet Teen and the Jealous Sound using one a little while ago. It was absolutely incredible. I was amazed at how good that thing sounded on bass. I have no opinion on the Black Eye.
