Adult music?

All of my strategies for finding new music are failing me. I'm in my 30s and I'm bored of the stuff I've been listening to for 10-15 years. I don't want to be the old weirdo at the shows and I don't really have time for that anyway. I guess I'm supposed to be aging into classic rock or coffeeshop folk but I'd rather kill myself.

Do adults make good music? Is there a way to find it?

I don't even understand what's going on here.

I thought this thread was either gonna be about music for "adult movies" or "Raffi gone bad" or something like that.

I don't think I understand the question. Are you saying your taste in music should change purely because of your age? I mean mine has a bit but I still appreciate almost all the bands that I listened to when I was a teen. I don't think there's anything wrong with that at all. Some is more relevant to my life than others, but good jams are good jams. Still rock Silverchair, Nirvana, Sublime...etc. Don't care if I don't have that teen angst anymore. I like the music.

I'll be that 60+ year old dude at the noise shows thrashing. I've already decided that long ago.

You're a musician, obstensibly. Talk to other musicians. They'll turn you on to new stuff. Go to the "listening..." thread. Listen.

Listen to good music that you want to listen to. Let your ears take you to what works for you now. I don't get this age appropriate crap. Are you not allowed to like new music because you're older than the people doing it. I was about twice the age of the XX when they debuted and I fucking loved that album. It's not like they're the Bieb just because they're younger than me. And John Mellencamp is still a ridiculous clown and hasn't gotten better with age.

Music has no age dude, and finding music now is easier than it ever has been. Check out youtube, blogs, ask yer friends, last.fm, maybe even pandora but I personally don't like that place
