New Inherited Broken Amp Day!

Last summer my uncle told me that he had "some broken Fender amp" in his basement that he hadn't used in years or bothered fixing since he doesn't play shows anymore and it was too loud for his condo anyway. He promised to bring it up for me whenever he retired and started cleaning out all his junk. My uncle retired a couple months ago, and I'd completely forgotten about this arrangement. I figured it would be a Bassman head and would've been pretty pumped about that, but I think I did a bit better:

Motherfuckin' Vibrolux Reverb 2x10, looks like original speakers, apparently in mint condition except for the fact that it blows fuses immediately upon being turned on. There isn't even a scratch in the tolex. I think my uncle said he bought it new in '78. I'm a little confused because it has this tag on it proudly proclaiming that it was inspected by Fender in Vietnam, but all the labels on the amp itself say made in USA, so I dunno. I don't actually know anything about Fender amps because I didn't think I would be able to afford one any time soon. I would ask him more about it, but he's one of those interesting people that doesn't own a telephone and lives several states away, so I would have to write him a physical letter or something.

I was going to wait until I had it fixed to post anything, but HOLY FUCKING SHIT EXCITED

Best uncle ever.

I haven't touched it beyond verifying that it doesn't power on, so we'll see. Could probably use a recap at this point too, might just bring it into a shop and have 'em fix it all up.

My uncles are both crazy and awesome. One of them has 17 cats and the other would never tell us what his job actually was besides "build stuff for the Navy." He's also super deaf from playing in psychedelic rock bands in the 60's/70's.
