I pulled a proroby

After rearranging my board for the first time in months I had a loud siren noise coming out when I first turned on my amp. After 2 hours of testing wires and power sources I discovered that my delay pedal was on and the repeats knob was turned all the way up...

My bassist pulled a proroby last practice. Behringer Vintage Time Machine. Sometimes I pull a proroby on purpose.

I'm just glad we have a name for our condition and now maybe people will start to understand... :joy:

I HATE when this happens. You spend god knows how much time rearranging your board, get all the cabling set up, turn on your amp and then there's some terrible sound, and you immediately freak out and shut everything down. Then you realize you're an idiot and your delays are just fighting with each other. Sigh.

As frustrating as that is, so much better than something actually being fucked up or incompatible. :thumb:

There's been a few times where I'd plug everything in and get no sound, fiddle with seemingly everything for a good 20 minutes before realizing one patch cable isn't in the jack the entire way....

THIS. SO MUCH THIS. It's happened so many times that I'm super OCD about checking all my cables before shows. I check all of them like five times, on stage, while everyone else is setting up.

yep. i get gotten all the time this way because the Sound Shank, being old-school/polarity-reversed, can't go on the daisy chain. i've spent more time than i like to contemplate trying to figure out why everything's screwed when the Sound Shank's input plug is still out. the other problem spot is where the cables leave the board via a pair of 1/4" 90ยบ adapters to go out to the volume pedal. those damned adapters allow the plug to back out too easily.

I was getting this weird feedback type sound in my rig and I couldn't figure it out. Unplugged everything and checked all my connections...turns out my mic was plugged into my looper and the mic volume knob wasn't all the way down

No sound coming out of rig.

Freak out trying to remedy the situation for 45 minutes.

Standby switch still on.

FML.
