Help with my Meathead clone

Hey everyone. Just received a meathead clone and something seems strange. There are two 2-way switches. One for input caps and one for output caps. The one switch definitely darkens up the tone. The other switch doesn't seem to do anything. Both switches are connected and each switch has a set of caps attached to it. Any ideas for troubleshooting? Possible bad switch or cap?

that is probably normal. some circuits are more or less affected by input and output cap changes. when I was just starting to do pedals I would build lots of switches into everything but a lot of times the cap switches did nothing or almost nothing. I know for a fact that the output cap size does not affect the sound of a pedal as much as the input cap does. this is a pretty safe blanket statement.
you can however do something useful with the switch if you want to. there are so many possible mods you can do, I can't really pick one. if I had this pedal I would probably try two or three mods before I settle on something I like.

lots of diodes and bypass caps in parallel. Different vfs and bypass caps increasing inversely with frequency.

FWIW, I had a meathead clone with input and output cap switches, and the output cap really just doesn't change that much. Odds are, your pedal is 100% fine.

I mean, input cap is the more noticeable change. Not your bad, homie.
