So I got a killer local trade offer and ended up bringing this beauty home. I know nothing about the history of the Big Muffs so tell me what I've got here.

Looks like a Bubble Font. Probably worth about $250.

Best trade ever. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet because I've been working shows all weekend. Blah. But either later tonight or tomorrow I'll give it a run. Can't wait.

No joke! Also, huge props on the lack of cosmetic wear. Russians don't typically weather well cosmetically in my experience, and that one looks practically pristine. Did the previous owner even play it?

Apparently he bought it new when they were still new but it has sat unused for a long long time.

It still blows my mind that when I started playing guitar you couldn't give these god damn things away, and now they're the bee's pajamas.

That is the one before the black ones came out, I think, you can tell by the feet which are then same as the black stuff that everyone hated at the time. The earlier ones have rectangle ones, or at least mine does and I remember this because at the time the black ones came out I was talked/forced into trying to teach someone how to play and

and they wanted a more PUNK sound

so they bought that dod thing which they could not control... so I told them to by a bigmuff. I did not like it as well as the one I have which is green but then they all sound different so I guess you had to find one you bonded with, and if you do it's nice! it's like a safety blanket or teddy bear, you can always know you'll get that sound. Or you will hate it and say they all suck... or you will give up playing because you did not listen when you were told to get a lefthanded bass when you were lefthanded.

Well, got a chance to test the pedal out this morning and it sounds great. Even since I sold off my electric guitar and have been focusing on mandolin the sounds this produces on a mandolin is nothing short of awesome. I was considering selling/trading it off simply because of the price it would go for but after playing with it for a bit I think it's going to stay on my pedalboard for awhile.
