Wiring question: External input / relay?

I am sure my Google-fu is weak and I am just searching for the wrong thing, but...

Short version: I have audio flowing from point A to point B. This should happen under normal circumstances unless an external audio source is patched in at point C, at which point audio should flow from point C to point B (point A is disconnected from the circuit).

Code: Select all

A---C---B (output)

I could do this with a switch trivially, but I want to avoid that. What's the best way to patch external audio into a circuit?

Simplest way would be with a shorting jack for the insert(C).

Thanks, Doc! Found exactly what I needed...

1/8" Stereo jack with 2 switches
