so, i have two signal chains on my board, one for each synth. i want to run a looper at the end, but i dont want to buy two loopers. i want a box with two inputs and two outputs. then i want a switch where it switches only the output jacks.

i.e. i would have something like this:



anyone have any idea? i'm pretty handy with a soldering iron, but maybe its because its 2:03 am and i'm dog-ass tired that i cant think of how to do it

I am not circuit-minded so I don't know if this would actually work, but what about an AB or ABY switch, but with a TRS input, and you could have a y-cable taking the 1/4" TS cables (if that's what you have) from each synth, summing them at the AB or ABY switch's input? Maybe something like that or similar exists?

This would be pretty easy to DIY.
You just want a switch that takes each input and alternates them between ground/nothing and connects to the output.
The switch you use depends on how many LEDs, if any, you want.
I'll try to work this out without paint or anything, bear with me.

DPDT switch
gnd blnk - - out 1
in 2 - - in 1
out 2 - - ground/blank

This is without any LEDs. For one, use a 3PDT. On one vertical row, add your LED anode to either the top or bottom, connect ground at the center lug.

i don't think that would do what the OP wants - that would switch a single input to either output, whereas he wants to simply swap outputs.
still simple though you'll need a 4PDT and will have to use a millenium bypass circuit to light your LED or do the whole thing with CMOS switching.

for the 4PDT - peep this diagram (you'll need to rotate it)
inputs 1 and 2 simply switch between the 2 outputs at the same time. easy!

i used to do this with the EHX 2880. plug each device into the L/R respectively and then use the input gain to select which instrument i wanted to loop.

actually i think you can do it with just dpdt and 3pdt if you want LED etc.

call the inputs Left/Right In and the output Left/Right out.

Connect left out to Pole 1 and right out to Pole 2.

Connect left in to toggle 1 on one switch can toggle 2 on the other.
Connect right in to toggle 2 on one switch and toggle 1 on the other.



the end? in one position left in goes to left out and right in goes to right out. when the switch it changed left in goes to right out and right in goes to left out.
