wonderfully. there's what amounts to a guitar pickup on every key of a rhodes, probably why fender bought 'em.

Rhodes is the shit. Every Guitar stuff Sounds so Good with it. Rhodes with Fender Tube Spring reverb is to die for BTW.
If i would have some Space to Place it, i would have bought One already.
For the guys with no Space: my Buddy sampled the Old one we had at practice Space. I use These Samples quite a lot. If somebody Wanst them, shoot me a pm.

Owning an electric piano a la Rhodes or Wurly (or even a Pianet) is on my bucket list.
I'd imagine they'd be fantastic with pedals.

Yes, they play well. Mostly with something like a Roland RE-501.

Also Leslies. Yes plz.

And a real plate reverb. Like a 6' long sonovabitch, at least.

So...much...want... :whoa:

Yeah different models have different tones depending on a lot of things, but mainly the sound source and how it's used. Like the Rhodes has basically tuning forks for each note that are struck with little hammers. Wurlitzers have struck strings or reeds depending on the model. The Pianet actually has sticky pads attached to each metal reed and when the key is press, the separation from the adhesive causes the notes to ring out. Cool shit.

I did a presentation in college on electric pianos

Wurlies are definitely different from Rhodes Piano's, completely different sound, I don't know how well they play with guitar pedals, a Rhodes is amazing with them.
Check this guy out, Patrick Muller (warning, major Jazz content), the sounds he gets out of the Rhodes (I think he also uses a Line 6 M9) are incredible:

what about like a light distortion with a blend to give it it that old school recording feel

yeah I'm totally digging the wurlitzers a lot

are the tops of em really curved? I want to put an ashtray and a glass of whiskey on to for that authentic experience

electro-mechanical keyboards can be treated just like a guitar with a wider range. light distortion is awesome of course, especially when used with a tube amp. i have a few demos with wurlitzer and pedals. :thumb:

Also Chick Corea in his Miles Davis Era. You can see him toying with pedals in the documentary "Miles Electric A Different Kind of Blue" and in the Isle of Wight concert.
