Thanks man, great demo!
You make it sound all spooky and shit, this could very well be the coldest and most heartless pedal out there, in a good way. :)
Tomorrow I can pick up my Cosmi from the postoffice, I'm psyked, judging from this demo I won't be sending it back...

Great demo! You got some seriously awesome sounds here, what the hell was happening at the very start? That tone is absolutely ridiculous and amazing.

Maaaaan fuck you for reminding me how badly I want a V3 even though I have a V2 I am completely satisfied with...

If only I had a massive amount of disposable income.
Or any income.
Fuck.

vidret wrote:what's stopping someone from making an analog flanger/phaser/vibe/chorus/delay pedal? that's all just time based and then the chorus and vibrato comes from an LFO moving the delay time.

I was hoping the cosmi could do it all :(

Jack deville

your demo kind of made me want one anyways.

Thanks for the kind words dudes! The sound at the start is cool - the cosmi can oscillate so quickly that you can tune it to certain notes. I just tuned it fairly low then gave it a wide swing with the clock. Def going to use that sound in a song! Plenty of demos show how "lush" and "wet/watery" it can get, but the cosmi really loves brutal sounds as well, which I think separates it from the pack.

Vidret. Flange and chorus can be done with the same pedal - the difference in broad terms is that flange uses a much shorter delay time. So if you have a chorus with a fast enough clock speed and a regen function. If you could get the delay slow enough, turn off the lfo then you could get delay, but I think it might be tough getting such variation in delay time. ??? Vibe is chorus but with the dry signal killed. Isn't it? Cosmi can do vibe!

Phase is a different beast.

Note: I love sounding like I know technical stuff. In reality I know enough to bluff so that people with no experience think I'm rad, and people with some idea think I'm incompetent. A lot like my guitar playing haha!

Anyways, bring on the cosmi demos! So many sounds in this thing! :animal:

Totally awesome demo, I love it! My favourite demos are when the weirdest settings are used musically, way to go Greigy!

You could have a pedal that did all forms of modulation but it would be digital requiring several different programs, like the Mobius, or a crazy huge analog multi-effect.

In the analog world all the modulation effects don't all go together, beyond not having controls that all relate... chorus and flanger go together, they use really low delay time, 10ms to 50ms kinda range, like the MN3007. They need different circuit setups though as flange needs a regen path and a choice of inverting the regen signal, plus different LFOs work better for flange vs chorus. A chorus with no dry signal is vibrato.

You couldn't do an analog delay with a MN3007 though, you need something like the MN3005 to get up to 300ms, but that chip wouldn't work well for chorus/flange plus the controls and clock required for an analog delay are different.

Phasers and vibes are based on filters, they're a different style of circuit, not based on BBD chips.

So you can have your modulation cake and eat it too but it would have to be digital to cover all the styles in one small pedal. (Not that there's anything wrong with that!)

Thanks Ryan!

I just have to say once again how much this loves fuzz and distortion. All other modulation pedals I own leave the distortion feeling somewhat thinned or dulled (sometimes only a little, sometimes a lot), but the Cosmichorus doesn't do that at all. Awesome!

It's still pretty heavily filtered and has an affect on the fuzz but it's a lot better than v2! *sheepish grin*
