I love the spring reverb from my DRRI, but I'd like to have more options for reverb. I've owned the strymon blue sky, RRR, and space in the past and they sounded great but I want a cheaper alternative. I'm not sure if I'll end up using the reverb more on guitar or drum machine though so that factors in as well. I've been looking at the supernatural, boss reverbs, and hall of fame. I love the tones of the supernatural but I'm not sure if it has the flexibility I'd need to get more standard sounds out of it. The hall of fame seems to have the most options. What are your thoughts?

I've got a Trinity which is a HoF offshoot and I love it dearly. Like you said, so many options, also stereo, the new Tone Print editor, etc etc

I just picked up a supernatural, and the spring mode is definitely the least tweakable of the 7 modes. The liveliness and decay knobs don't have a lot of range in the spring mode, so regardless of your settings it's always going to be a long spring sound. You can attenuate the tail of the decay by rolling off the mix, but obviously if you're looking for a short spring sound with the mix cranked this shouldn't be your first choice. If long spring is your thing though, I'd pick one up because it does sound great...and the plate, shimmer, and pherb modes are killer

I'd recommend the Subdecay Spring Theory. I don't play well with long decay verbs so I flipped it a while ago. But it was fun indeed!

The Hall of Fame is nice. Loads of options, very versatile, good sound.

Another vote for the Hall OF Fame. Absolutely in love with mine! Just sits nicely in the mix in a way that other reverbs just never did for me. The whole Toneprint download and editor thing is a nice added element too.

I'm selling my Supernatural over here viewtopic.php?f=44&t=33674, but only because of pedal board space. I definitely prefer its spring sounds to the onboard reverb on my Traynor head, but I just don't have the space. I actually think the spring on the Supernatural is outstanding, better than the spring setting on any other reverb pedal I have used (including Trinity, RV5). And the other settings on it are just fantastic. Plate and plate mod are great, even better than the vaunted mod setting on the RV5, and the supernova, pherb, shimmer settings are outstanding.

On the Hall of Fame would I be able to go stereo input->mono output?

The plate is my favourite mode on the HoF and what I have it set on 90% of the time, mod and gate are also really cool. Mod verb -> fuzz is amazing!

And yeah, I'm pretty sure it does mono in->stereo out. EDIT: meant stereo in -> mono out

Looking back, I see that your op could be read either way. Fail on my part. Anyway, the plate modes are the best part of the supernatural. I replaced my supermoon with a supernatural because the reverb sounds better and 7 modes are always better than just one; however, the modulation on the supermoon was much better. A knob for the modulation in plate mod mode would have been nice...

It does mono in-stereo out but I'd like to try to run the drum maching through something with a stereo out and use filters to separate the signal then run each part of the signal through different effects and have them converge into something with stereo ins and only use mono out. Would stereo in-mono out give me only half of the effect?

Oops, I meant stereo in->mono out before, sorry got confused while writing! I'm pretty sure the mono out will be everything that goes in mixed evenly (what you want, if I understand you right); the stereo ins and outs aren't parallel like some stereo pedals, they're all mixed together, so it should be fine. I'll give it a try tomorrow with another stereo output pedal into the HoF and let you know what happens.

If that's what it does it would both conquer my reverb needs and simplify figuring out how I'm going to set up my drum machine's signal chain. Thanks!
