so my question is, whats a good price pay? it doesn't have to be mint but I'd like it in dece condish
also how hard are they to come by?

though this probably wont happen for a few months or so

I got my Mig50 for $200 a couple months back. Beat all to hell, but it sounds great. Definitely the best sounding head I've played. Definitely pick one of those up

Man, that's a sweet deal! I haven't seen one for less than $400 in a long, long while....

Great amps, seriously crushing live tones.

Ha, yeah, I lucked out on the price. It's amazing that a few scrapes and missing logo makes people think it's worthless :idk:
And it does crush! Bought is as a back-up, but now I won't play without it.

Yeah, MIG 50's are great. My old guitarist has one, and it rocks. Actually the reason I got turned on to MIGs in the first place.

I'd never seen/heard one until Mouth Of The Architect started using 'em live a few albums back before Greg left the band, The Ties That Blind Era.

Then Greg went on to form Struck By Lightning and both guys were running MIG full stacks. Goddamn, them tonez! :thumb:

I,Galactus wrote:Can somebody school me on SOVTEK amps? Migs, midgets, 6L6, EL34/84, MV/non MV?

What's the deal, are they pedal platforms or gain monsters or both?

My Mig50 has 5881's for power, and 12ax7's for preamp. From what I've read, they have more headroom with the 5881s than with 6L6s, but swapping those around should make it sound truer to a Bassman...I'm retubing mine now, though, and am interested in trying a couple different options. I'll report back if I have some spare matching 6L6s lying around I can use.
As far as pedals, these have a ton of headroom, so I have to push 7 on the volume to get breakup. Under that level, it's just a really nice, warm amp that takes pedals quite well.
I'd love to come across a Mig30 to get that breakup sooner, but those are hard as hell to find...

I like mine as a pedal platform--it's a MIG 100H, has 6L6 powertubes and is a master volume.
