Hey, bronzetalon and i have one. MEC had one but sold it afaik.
We had a short chat here about it: viewtopic.php?f=149&t=27623r#p482543
The stock speaker is shit. But the amp by itself rules imho (always regarding that price! Don't expect wonders.)

I played one last weekend at a store. I think it sounds really cool. I didn't get to turn it up to overdrive but the clean sound was great. It was really mellow on the dark setting and really clear and sparkly on the bright setting. The tremolo doesn't have a very fast max rate, and you can't control the depth, of course. For $300 I think it's pretty fucking great.

That the idea that I want to buy it. Out here, I play small shows and need a amp that's loud but not so loud. I think this prefect for me.

I need a amp that's clean sounding. So that good to know.

It's a simple amp. Does what it needs to. Minimal design is supreme, plus that 15" allows you to get some sicks speakers in a practice amp. People already have some mods for it posted that don't seem to hard.

Ok, so next month then, I'm getting the Excelsior Pro. Should I get it in surf green or sonic blue. I'm more toward blue.

What's the difference between the regular and pro? I can't really find something other than the speaker. For a hundred more, I'd rather go get another one myself, cos It feels like they tricked us (if indeed nothing else added)

I think they did a few tweaks and switched out the speaker. I cannot decide if I want the pawn shop or the pro, because I'm looking for a amp that I can do small open mics gig and small venues. Solo.

Pretty sure either one would do fine, but my suggest would be to get the cheapest ones, otherwise you'll be ruining the initial purpose (getting a cheap & good amp).. you can always spend other hundred anytime later if you really want to swap the speaker. Btw, do you know what kind of "tweaks" they did?

I do not know what the difference they did with the amp, my guess was they improve some how but its settled. I'm buying a Excelisor, pawn shop version.
