Skychord makes some cool multiple oscillator boxes that can give you some thick, static drones. Not exactly inexpensive but if you can find a Grendel Drone Commander used, you'll love it

ANY CASIO!!! King Capitol Punishment/Skychord are my favorite... The Glamour Box, Sleep Drone5, and the Sleep Drone3 all sound AWESOME... I use CASIO's and some playing cards and hold a bunch of keys down and play 'em through effects... I also like making DRONEZZZ with the Kaos Pad 3, you can sample a note on pad 1 add delay or whatever then resample onto pad 2 add some effects and resample onto pad 3 and then again to pad 4 and you have huge thick ass DRONEZZZ...

Skychord has some Deses Parvas on their ebay for about $80 or something.

Casper Electronics Dronelab was the most versatile and useful of all the drone boxes I've built/used.

I also got really amazing results by running a Boss FZ-2 and a Danelectro Octave pedal in a feedback loop together and running the output of that through a delay and huuuuge reverb. Keep the gain and volume on the fuzz kinda low and you'll get some amazingly tweakable sounds. Crank the gain when you want to bring it into noisier territory :)

Equalizer + feedback loop is easymode dronez. Get one that lets you adjust the bassy bass frequencies.

Also, slightly on a different note, depending on what sort of DRONEZ you want, you can look into an EHX Freeze or Zcat Hold pedal and/or a looper and use something (read: guitarcasiobassvocals) as a sound source.

Devi DFs are kind of cheap and they have oscillating ability.

But yeah there have been good suggestions, can't go wrong with feedback loop tomfoolery. :thumb: And for self contained stuff the Skychord seems to be up your alley, hmm ...TGD? Squaresnakes? Pretty sure you can build a tone generator without too much expense.

If you've got an iPad, the Dr-Om app by Fluxama is tons of fun.
