tiny cute chicks with nice butts and hot faces are the best thing ever
2nd best thing in my world right now is tiny amps
tell me about some great tiny amps. i am all about being a tone purist these days so keep that in mind.
i have a 76 champ that rules.
i might be buying a tiny orange amp.
i remember abotu 10 years ago this guy was making a little amp that you could swap out the tubes on without rebiasing. it was a little tabletop deal and it came with an optional kit with an el34, el84, 6v6, 6l6 and whatnot. i talked to that guy a couple times via email but cant find his name now. id love to have something like that.
the 15 watt egnator tweaker sounds pretty cool but it's NOT TINY OR PURE ENOUGH for the purpose of this discussion.
i used to have a marshall 2061x which sounds fantastic, 18-20 watt range head with el84s BUT ALSO not tiny enough for the purposes of this thread. also way too damn expensive.
i checked out the z vex nano which looked cool, then i listened to youtube demos of it and realized that i hate the way it sounds. i hate hate hate that high gain jcm 800 cock rock sound, christ how i hate it.
i dunno, if i could get a tiny amp that sounds like a jtm 45 or something, i would probably pee my pants.
but oranges are cool too. just throw some shit at me bro.

Emery Sound Superbaby? Or Microbaby?
http://www.emerysound.com/Superbaby.htmlThat's the first thing that came to mind with your description.
The Hall Amplification Lil' Devil is another tiny amp, .25 to 2 watts. No tube swapping though:

Jet city Picovalve? 5w/2.5w, table top size, and the ability to swap power tubes (as long as they are an octal setup).

to this thread,

shorties...and just about all varieties of Champs.
A modded, mid 70s SF is one of the best sounding instrument amps I've heard, in any size or power range.
And I've been wanting a Frenzel Champ Pro since learning about it.
http://www.frenzeltubeamps.com/page23.phpIt sounds similar to the one that got away from you...
Big things come in small packages.
But big amps rule, too...with my 50w Selmer head being the go-to example of

in my world, Fender Princeton Reverbs are tiny and they're my favorite amps EVAH. i also really like late 50s Gibson amps, some of which come in eensy 5W mode.

I just sold my tiny OR15 because my Hovercraft was shaming it in terms of awesomeness. Both sport 2xEL84s but the OR was voiced a little more modern and brittle. The gain available in that amp in crazy, WAY more than I'd ever use and I love the heavies! My particular Hovercraft is voiced like a vintage Orange OR or Matamp, tons of lows, HUGE sound, plenty of gain but more old school with a little sag to it when you get things cooking. Also loves getting hit with a boost/OD/fuzz depending on amp gain levels. I love that amp!
That said, I wouldn't call the Hovercraft a "tiny" amp per se. Physically, it's a pretty good size and while only 20W, it's LOUD AS FUCK, no nonsense. That amp came to party!
The OR15 was cool too and more in the realm of physically "tiny" amp, like a Tiny Terror wrapped in a cute little headshell. Again, it was LOUD for 15W, a real screamer of a high gain amp.
The Ampeg GVT5 is a little tiny clean amp option, maybe 1x6v6 and 1x12AX7. I have it's bigger brother the GVT15H and if that's any indication, the 5 watter should be a great, stripped down option.

I can't say it enough- both the VHT and the Kustom Low-Wattage (and pretty low cost) tube amps are solid. I have the Kustom Defender 15 Head with a 4x12Cabinet. The amp rules pretty damn hard. No fancy stuff like reverb or multi channel or fx loop... but solid sound and a great amp for pedals.

I've got a Valve Junior that has been awesome and reliable and fun to mod. That Jet City PicoValve looks awesome. I'd love to run a KT88 in it or something, that just sounds fun
