i dont think any pedals sound like a 70s OR Unit. Monarch I have owned sounded nothing like one (not that it sounds bad or good, just not like an orange).

yeah...i've never played a vintage orange amp, although i would say the dirt channel on my amp is very different to the modern rockaverbs and thunderverbs. Nick (Dunwich) did tell me that my Rocker 30 is based on a marshall amp rather than orange...which kinda makes sense having recently heard my friends marshall amp. But in anycase, i don't use the dirt channel...i get all my dirt from pedals.
but long story short...the Monarch doesn't sound like my amps dirt section...and my amps dirt section doesn't sound like vintage orange either...

The OR15 is the way to go if your looking at the baby Orange amps, sounds so much better than the TT imo. And the Micro is tube pre only with solid state power section if you're into that. I'd say the Rocker 30 is my favorite modern day Orange but it's discontinued of course. I also agree with others saying NO PEDAL sounds like an actual Orange, particularly the vintage stuff. Even the OR15 has a more modern voicing than I was after honestly.
That said, there's a small amp that actually gets you most the way there for not much more than some pricier pedals, the Hovercraft Dwarvenaut 20W. They're all spec'd differently, mine has med gain Model T tones in lower gain territory then goes to Orange OR/Matamp voicing in the high gain settings. It's LOUD as fuck and produces an astoundingly similar tone to the vintage Orange stuff, just HUGE with low end for days and that unique sag when you get that gain cooking, just perfect.
I love that little amp.
