CryBaby Issues...

I've been working on modifying a CryBaby by adding a Q pot, inductor switch, and a few other things. Bypass is through a DPDT switch, following wiring diagrams found on the net. I hooked it all up, and the effect doesn't engage. It doesn't matter which side of the switch is engaged, the effect is bypassed entirely. I have one loose connection I plan on fixing, but other than that, it's all together. Is this a problem with the switch?

if you want to know if your switch is functioning properly, you should test the switch for continuity with a multi-meter. divide the whole project into working bits and non working bits. this is how it goes for new builds as well as repairs. most of what you do here is with the meter and the guitar but you can also use a function generator and an audio probe. my probe is basically made of
alligator clips and a
mini screw driver.

It was the switch, but in an odd sort of way--I re-used a switch from a CryBaby Classic that was an oddball. The commons had continuity between each other, even with nothing wired to the switch but the PCB and my desoldering tool broke so I have no means of removing it. I will probably try and find a place sometime next week that carries a DPDT or even 3PDT so I can add an LED.
