White Light: could be the perfect overdrive if...

... you could make it as transparent as a Tim.
I love the way it clips.
If it didn't added treble the way it adds, and if it was as transparent as my Tim, would be just perfect.
I will keep it, because it gives me a diferent tone: more open, more present.
And to me it sounds more natural, the way it clips, and more dynamic than my Tim.
It's a great pedal, and I recommend it.

Well it was modeled after a Distortion +, which isn't known for its transparency, so...

I adore my White Light. Playing my first show with it this evening. Excited to debut my new board (which incidentally hosts 3 EQDs right now)

Run an EQD Tone Job after it and your wish will come true. I spent an hour in a local store today with a Tone Job and a White Light just to see what the outcome would be, and bought the Tone Job. I already own the White Light. While I was there, plugged in a Ghost Echo, and the White Light and Ghost echo sounded so awesome together, I went home with that too. The darker sounds of the Ghost Echo complimented the White Light in a completely musical way, and much preferred it to the Dispatch Master for creating totally organic and natural sounds.
I understand you can also swap out the op amps in the White Light as the stock one is just socketed in. Since they range in 50 cents to a buck each, I'll be trying a couple of them out just for giggles.
The Tone Job also made my clean sound sound so good it kicked my Klon clone right off my board as I was uding that as a sound shaping tool.
I found the White Light stock sounds way better than the three(original grey, yellow, and Malmsteen) OD 250s and both a 70s and reissue Distortion Plus. Truly an awesome drive.
EQD is sending me to the poorhouse-waaah-haha!!

Try an LM 1458 op amp(the op amp is socketed in so no soldering required)and it will reduce the gain a little, tame the treble, and make it sound(for lack of better word)a little warmer. Definitely worth a shot and will give you a little more range in the lower gain settings.
