Wrong Power Supply, Sparks

So, I plugged the power supply of my Tube Zipper into my Flanger Hoax. It sparks. Now, the regular power supply sparks when I put it in. Is it dangerous to keep using it? Electro-Harmonix won't give me DIY advice, they want me to send it in.
It still works, there are just some sparks when I plug it in. Am I adding to the damage if I keep using it? Is there something I can do to fix it myself?

that is one expensive pedal to blow up.
I would send it in before you start a fire. flanger hoax is like $600 right? you plugged a 12VAC power supply into a 18VDC pedal. not good. I have repaired many pedals that have been damaged like this. probably all the electrolytic caps will be blown. anyone good repair person can fix it but EH will calibrate it to EH specs and provide some kind of warranty from the original manufacturer. also consider that some repair technicians could do more damage to a very expensive pedal and then EH will blame you for what that repair guy did.
watch this video to see what 12vac will do to the 16v electrolytic caps in a flanger hoax. skip to 0:45

do not plug in any more power supplies or batteries or anything until you get it fixed
