photo eye question

Okay, so I know that the typical devi photocell is allied electronics part #699-0380, but I was wondering if any of the ones available at small bear electronics (here: http://www.smallbearelec.com/Categories.bok?category=Photocells+and+Photocouplers&sfs=4b49e334) would work just as well. What is the difference? Is it just size, sensitivity, etc.? Small Bear has the same brand of photocells, but they don't have that specific part number. I would prefer to order from Small Bear, but I don't want to risk getting a photocell that won't work as well...help?

Yeah, I kind of have the same question. I just got done building my Feedback Looper with a controllable photo eye that I purchased from Small Bear. They didn't have the model that Devi specified, so I just bought two different ones. I think they're the same type, just different values. These ones allow current to flow when there is no light exposure, and restrict it when it is exposed to light. I was sort of hoping it was the other way around.
HOW CAN YOU TELL? what should we look out for?
