I receive their newsletter very often and I can't help myself finding some of their guitar very pretty...
Do they sound as good as they look?
Are they good guitar or cheap ones??
Why some are branded as Airlines (for example)??

Honestly they all look like overpriced shit to me. I would have considered them back when the most expensive guitar they had was like $500, but now when theyre selling for 800 and 1000 dollars they can forget it.

Yep, every Eastwood I've played has felt like shit and sounded like crap. I used to have a Matsumoku made Hi-Flyer that I got for less than an Eastwood Hi-Flyer goes for, and it was so much better than the Eastwood ones I've played. And that's even considering the fact that my Hi-Flyer had such a thin neck pocket that anything more than the lightest touch possible on the neck would throw it totally out of tune.

thoughts on those GuitarUSA kits? they look simple and easy. How do Res-o-guitar sound? Anyone got names of some legit res-o-guitar builders? I love the look of eastwoods but if quality sucks im not dropping that much for a poor build quailty.

Sucks cause I liked that Eastwood brought back the old Wandre designs although it was quite lame they didn't use the aluminum neck-through.

I assumed it's was cheapo brand.
If I want a Wandre or a Supro I'll take a real one...anyway I thought the idea to bring those old guitars back to life was nice!!!

GuitarUSA kits seems to be great!!!!! I have lots of ideas now to "create" a weird guitar :)

I recently bought a Eastwood semi hollow bass. It was a floor model but it looks like it was never touched. In total w/ tax and junk it was $450ish I don't think I would have bought it if it was anymore than that though.

Yeah, I don't like em very much. Most of them look like they fell out of the wrong side of the retro bed and they don't sound that fantastic. Sometimes it seems like they exist solely to service Jack White fan-boys.

I've only played one and didn't care for it. It was an Airline or National'ish one. Felt plastic-y and didn't sound all that good to my ear. I'd rather just hunt around for a real one. Worth getting an original for the extra cash I'd say.

That being said - I would like to have a go on one of those Warren Ellis Tenors that they do. Those seem cool potentially.

I like the look of some of them, but for the most part the GAS I have for them fades away once I do a little research. But of course, I'd like to try a few of them out before making a final judgemental call on them. From what I can see they've got a lot right, but until I can find one and put it in my mitts, I'll reserve either bashing or praising them.
