So the MASF Possessed Tremolo is actually a Glitch Delay (!)

I've had my eye on this pedal for a while and Prymaxe finally had them in stock so I snatched one up with their sale. I wasn't sure from the demo videos if this actually was a tremolo with random functionality because the guy in the videos never plays anything more than nonsense. Literally. He just slides his fingers around on the neck and makes noise with the guitar while running it into the pedal. I can tell from 30 seconds of playing that a better demo video would sell cases of these pedals instantly. Its extremely musical and brings a unique electronic element to guitar music which I haven't found in any other pedal.
But the biggest curiosity here is that the name is completely wrong. I dont know if its a language barrier issue (Japanese builder, manual all in japanese, labels in english for some reason though...), but this pedal that is called a tremolo is very clearly a delay. Or maybe more precisely its a sampler with instant playback, random sample length, and random number of plays. The workhorse chip inside is gooped but its either the surface mount SpinSemi FV1 or a large surface mount delay chip. If you play, it keeps going after you stop. In other words, its a delay and not a tremolo. And thats probably why people dont buy this pedal. They dont want a weird broken trem. But if you told them it was a GLITCH DELAY they would sell out constantly. I just dont get it.
But this pedal is awesome. And thats all that matters.

Strange because the build inside is neat and clean. Maybe a defective part or something?

I've had two both broke.
The third I sold to a guy on the forum which broke like two months later.
Same thing every time, the volume cuts and just won't work at any setting on the knob

i'll try to do a demo when i get it in.
lol. i WAS gonna buy one last time i was in Japan, but with the shitty dollar to yen rate and local prices it was about $120 more than i just paid.
WOOT.
if it's broke, that sucks butts. i'll exchange it. I WANT IT HARD.

Damn. Thats a pretty rough track record. Maybe a bad batch of pots somewhere along the way. I'll have to see how it goes with mine.

if you post a gut shot we could definitely tell if it is a spin chip.

The Recovery Effects Bad Comrade might be a cool alternative:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2L6PymEq7rYOr the Hexe Electronics Revolver II, Red Panda Particle or Sonic Crayon Anti Nautilus offcourse, but you guys probably know all of these already as they're being talked about here quite a bit.

I have an Anti Nautilus and its really more of a tabletop processor that you need to manipulate while playing audio through it. It has a stompswitch but its not really intended to be a pedal.

Ah, okay, I didn't know as I have no hands on experience with it, I thought / hoped it would do some glitchy / pitchy / delay kind of stuff just as you play some guitar through it?

Its gooped but there are a 28-pin SMD IC and a 32-bit EEPROM right next to each other. Thats usually how I see builders implementing the FV1 IIRC.

Yeah it does but there is an envelope triggering quality to that pedal that makes it much more workable if you are tweaking controls while its on.
