Hi fuzzheads!

Have the opportunity to buy a 1973 Ampeg B-40.
Soldistate, 120 watt.

Anyone knows about it?
Loud enough for heavy jamming?

Or do I spend the money better to an ampeg PF350 or a Gallien Krueger MB-200 if I want some sub in the room / smaller clubs?

Normally I play guitar but now there's a new project where I try da bass. I have a bassman70 and a laney KLIPP, I love the sound of the bassman for bass but I want a little more sub and clean headroom...

Hey I've blown up TWO of these old Ampegs...well, to be fair, one had pretty seriously degraded wiring and corrosion when we opened it up.
It does have a pretty good tone for what it is--a loud bedroom amp. Both times my tech looked at them, he told me I was playing them way too loud...and they were being used in a bi-amp guitar rig, so not even being relied on to produce all my signal. I was jumpering the channels (so both on at the same time)...which may not have been helping, but they certainly weren't cranked.
So if it's $100 or less, give it a shot..at least we'll have parts to trade
