ive had it for a few years. a guy on HC sold it to me.
i thought maybe t he man himself could tell me something about it.
it's a really nice fuzz with with a clean drive knob on the right, clean boost on the left. and as you can see a resonance switch

OHHHH! It's a tricked out psych byke I built for the pedal thing at the first wilco fest, never made it there though, got lost in there practice space for a while.

Sweet. The clean blend and clean boost are really nice to have. So the circuit is exactly the same?

hey Doug, i got the psyche byke..thankyou.
i did an A/B with the prototype and the psyche byke.
I noticed the prototype has way more bass, also it can't do the "spaghetti western" tone to nearly the same degree as the psyche byke.
even with the resonance switch and the tone knob, i tried to match the tone from the psyche byke by tweaking the knobs on the prototype, and i cant do it. don't think it's possible. cant get nearly as much trebly goodliness. not knocking the prototype, it's just a different animal.
you can definitely tell from the texture of the fuzzes, particularly the mid/high breakup, that they are indeed close relatives.
but not quite the same.
i am happy about this, because 2 pedals that sound the same is utterly useless to me

Here's a little secret that may be totally infuriating, there have been 5-6 circuit changes in the psych byke....yeah....and there is no way of telling which version you're getting......I'm bad about this shit.
But they all have the same intention, basically, the newer the pedal, the fartier...the very first version is pretty farty too, but the highnotes are a little more blurry.
"Farty"

yeah, im cool with not knowing all your secrets, but the proto wilco fest version i have has WAY WAY more low end.
if you wouldnt mind, tho, telling me just how early of a proto i have, that would be pretty cool, my man.
im keeping both, fwiw. they are totally different beasts. i was expecting the new one i got from you to sound just like the proto, and they are vaguely similar. vaguely at best. the new one is super spaghetti

It's from a few years after the psych byke came out, just something I was trying out.
There should be a date on the inside cover!!

The straight fuzz tone on the prototype seems quite a bit different from the newer psych byke i got from you earlier this year.
I mean the essential tone is the same, but the newer one seems more spaghetti-y to me. I tried to match the tone of the new one with the proto exactly and i couldnt do it.
