My German professor was talking about how back when he was a kid they said "in the year 2000 there will be flying cars, pills will become meals, and...and..."

Well it's about time: http://dsc.discovery.com/news/2009/01/2 ... g-car.html

The problem with the flying cars will be the accidents.

Can't wait to see these douchebags flying while texting and eating. They won't die, but they'll take out other people.

I guess the don't have to have rearview mirrors because they're experimental.

Pills not = meals is something I am upset about.
I either never get around to gather food or I'm not hungry because of too much going on.
I want my food to be bland, drinkable or in pill form!

For a while I have had this business plan about lunching cafes called Sustenance Shakes (cause drinking goo for every meal might not be a good idea). Basically, it would be a shake you could drink, not a dieting shake or a gain weight beefcake shake, but a normal lunch in fluid form. Preferably with a mellow flavour like cucumber or salad, maybe with a hint of tea or herbs. And I guess you could dump whatever in them as well, calcium, omega 3, etc.
Bland futuristic happiness. For the busy robot.
Don't steal my ideas!

Also I want a flying car.. with lasers!

I take it you haven't seen Wall-E. They stole your idea.

I've heard the “flying car” is coming soon all my life.

If your a film buff you'll see them in SF movies from the '30s set in the future like 1980.
The old “popular Mechanics” regularly had articles about them all through the '50s.

Now the FAA, you know those folks don't you, would like to ban every plane that isn't a commercial air line or owned by the military, so flying cars are a big no no.

I put that with meals will be pills, settlements on the Moon and Mars etc. All were going to happen by the 1980s too.

Although flying cars may be the real reason they won't plow snow or repair streets any more.
