What can't you do that you want to?

If I were you I'd lock myself in my bedroom with an album I really enjoy and learn to play it from front to back just by ear. Not worrying about proper technique or how to emulate the artist to perfection.
There's got to be something you've heard a million times and always wondered how it was done. If you can mimic it without the technical know-how there's something to be said about that.
That's how I learned.

Get a metronome...you'll hear clicking noises in your sleep but it will help you immensely.

Find songs that contain techniques you want to be better at, and learn 'em. That's how I learn.

That about sums up what I do. I always thought "Cherub Rock" of the Pumpkins was a great song to learn multiple techniques. Like using octave double stops with the e string ringing out, then there's the fast open chord changes in the "Let me out" part.
Powertab or guitarpro is super helpful as well.

When my playing was really fragile (about 7 years ago) I used to play along with the records that I liked and it definitely helped. It was kinda improvising and listening how to blend in with the recorded music.Even today if I'm sitting in front of tv or computer, the guitar is always there.
Of course,I can't crank my amp on late nights, but I even enjoy playing my jag without it...just holding it and trying new things, slow it down, play it in that tempo for some time, then speeding it up,repeating one thing for hours, etc.I'm not a great player by any means...but I don't like not to be able to play something I came up with correctly. You know...play it like you really mean it!It's all about the energy and ideas for me.
Hmm...I don't know if this was helpful...
