I just found out that Blake Schwarzenbach's new band Forgetters has an album out and an EP! And that they'll be playing Providence in March!
Anybody else digging on this? I likes it. Go figure, it was recorded by J Robbins, like about 85% of my contemporary music collection...

It's a grower, for sure (TWCS), and if you didn't like the first JtB album, it could be tough going... not that this one sounds like that one, but there's a definite continuum going on. The first two songs aren't the most immediate tunes, either. I might jump to "O Deadly Death" or something in the middle if you're looking for a little pep. Lot's of themes of death, suicide, broken homes... you know, Blake's traditional stomping grounds. For some reason, I get the feeling he's been listening to a bunch of Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and Johnny Cash. Good-times fellas.
Also, those are some awesome shows to have seen, for sure...
