Octave down fuzz

I've only ever had a stock newer production blue box and wasn't very impressed. Is there something I'm missing out on here? Some of my favorite guitarists use them pretty famously, like Rowland S. Howard, King Buzzo, etc.

What are some octave down fuzzes you guys dig? Not necessarily interested in video game sounds per se, but I just wanna see what's out there.

Blue Box is a pedal that's ripe for the modding.

But the Catalinbread Perseus seems cool too.

I also am interested in some octave down fuzz tones. I was thinking about a pog of some sort but really a fuzzhugger downer!

I'm almost certain the downer is just a Phantom Octave with a couple extra controls. For Octave down the Phantom Octave is what I use, or the Phantom Arcade when I have room on the board, one side is up one side is down.

The Phantoms take a little getting used to as how you pick will affect the octave down effect, but once you get the hang of it, it's a really great octave down sound.

Also, I like the EQD Bit Commander as well, sweet synthy octave down.

Always wanted to try one of these guys
On a completely unrelated note, after practice tonight I was really glad I didn't sell my blunderbuss :p

I should add, while its not so much an octave down, the BAT Fnord gets some borderline octave sounds
And it sounds heavy as shit

Fuzzhugger AB-Synth with oscillation on and guitar volume knob rolled back does some pretty awesome octave down tones. You can get octave down consistently with the right pick attack and knob settings.
