Will a compressor pedal level out Memory Man with Hazarai

Good day,
I've been wondering recently whether it would be worth while investing in a compressor pedal. The main reason is that when i engage my electro harmonix memory man with hazarai in the reverse reverb type function the jump in volume is enormous. Would putting a compressor pedal at the end of my chain (the memory man is last in the chain) stop this jump in volume and allow for a smooth transition?
Thanks a lot

Not sure about having a comp at the end of the chain... normally they work better early in the chain.
And I'm not a fan of compressor anyway.
Have you tried a clean boost pedal?

I built a clean boost pedal a while ago but i think i've lost it since, didn't really have much use for it. How would you use it? Do you mean setting it a lower volume and putting it on after the memory man to bring the volume down?
Thanks a lot

Weird. I have a SMMWH and don't really notice a drastic volume rise in the reverse setting. Where are your knobs set on the pedal (like blend, etc.)?

I have it last in the chain. Its not the reverse mode i have problems with, its in the multi-tap 3 second delay mode, probably should have clarified that sorry. The sound i get is basically a reverse reverb but the jump in volume means i can't turn it on half way through a song because the difference in volume is too drastic

It's all about cho gain structure and the blend knob yo... Maybe stick it in a bypass looper with a vol??? :idk:

Are you running the pedal in the loop or in front?

I run all my pedals in front. I think the volume rise is just due to the nature of the effect, the repeats are very quick and swell in volume. When strumming it creates the reverse reverb type sound. Maybe i can tweak it so the swells are less drastic. Is it a no on the compressor stopping this rise in volume then?
Cheers

Just for the record, I'd think you'd want a limiter rather than a compressor.

Not sure it'd work for your situation either.

I would view a compressor as a bandaid to this particular problem. It would help but there's probably a more elegant solution.
