Looking for a unique guitar.....

Well, I'm down a guitar (unless I find a neck for a newer silvertone). I'm looking for some thing unique. My budget is ideally $250 (I did see a epiphone sg pro for$250)but depending on the guitar I could stretch it to $1000 even(i saw a gold top gibson V). As some of you know I love metal, Indi, and jazz. It's just I've been out of the guitar/music for about 3-4 years and don't really know about the new stuff.

I saw a parts musicmaster on Offset for 125 today. I'd get it if I were you.

The new Vintage Modified Squiers (Jazzmaster, Jaguar, Mustang, Tele Deluxe, etc.) are supposed the be the shit.

Well, they're small and light and have thin necks, but I never liked the bridge or whammy bar on it.
