What does a blown or damaged tweeter sound like?

There's a weird sound coming from my amp and I don't like it. It goes away when I'm switching cabs. I've been told it's very obvious when you're having speaker problems but what about tweeter problems? It's more pronounced on guitar and it dials down a bit when I turn down the highs. I could maybe try and get some recordings or something if needed.
Any ideas?

What kind of cab is it? Usually tweeters are found in bass cabs, and even less often do they actually add usable tone to the rest of the cab. Like Derelict said, just disconnect that janx.

How do I do that? I do have it turned down to -2 DB, I cut the highs on my other amp all the way cause that shit is too loud.

By popping the speaker out and physically disconnecting the wires going to it, then wrapping the ends with electrical tape to make sure they don't ground out and cause a short or anything.

That sounds pretty easy. Gotta figure out how to take off the grill/get inside

It's easy to do. A blown tweeter sounds kind of like change rattling in your cab when you hit high notes. Who needs tweeters anyway.

Tweeters are like abortions. If you don't like them, don't get one.

Alternatively, tweeters are like abortions--they're only a problem when they don't work.

I disconnected the wires going to the little circuit board and taped the wires inside the cab, here what it looks like now.

There used to be a red and black wire going to the Horn(+) and Horn(-) respectively. Seemed pretty straight forward :idk: Did I do it right?
