Was looking at the Boss stereo unit but I don't know shit about volume pedals so I am looking for information, opinions and bantering. What are you running and what do you hate/love about it?

I've always liked using my hand and volume knob better than a pedal that adjusts the volume
Makes more sense to use on a lap steel guitar or something. But I can see how it has its place on a pedalboard as well

I can do volume swells with my Squier 51, but my other guitars have high output pups and volume swells sound like shit. So I would need to utilize a volume pedal to achieve the desired effect.

I should also mention I run a dual amp set up. So I am looking at a stereo volume pedal.

Yeah I have a vp jr too. I've never felt the want for another. I use it to hold back when I have like all my gainy stuff turned on or for swelly things. I wouldn't understand as much if you use it pre dirt since is gets compressy and funky for smooth stuff but whatever floats them boats of yours.

I REALLY like the late swell of 25k pots. Everything is bunched up towards the end of the treddle which makes for easier swelling

Word didn't know that placement would fuck with how it sounds with dirt. So that is something else to consider.

Yup, if you put it pre-dirt it affects the strength of the signal going into the dirt which can clean it up or make it sound very different from what your used to. If your doing stuff like volume swells into delay and you want to keep the normal dirty tone you have then you put your volume pedal after dirt but predelay. I run mine at the very end of the chain so I swell in everything, or can cut everything off for no tails on the delays.

I just remembered this (not that it would help you now because it's only just been released and so far there is only talk of a stereo version, but it's something I'm interested in):

Word well my plan to put it post modulation and pre delay was on point then.

I've got an old (20ish years?) Morley mono volume pedal, PVO maybe? Never liked the taper -- Most of it comes on at the very end of the sweep. So I don't really use it. EB's seem to work better for what I want, but I've never owned one.
