in me experience, SMMH can do stuff i've never been able to mimick after i sold it
and the reverse is really good and can also do a super-ambient reverbish style thang
it felt a bit tasteless, but it can do cool tricks

I think the SMMH was ppprrreeetty cool, but the DL-4 had way cooler sounds and the looper was dope.
I'm still looking at the Vox DelayLab and will get one of those pretty soon.

dumb fuckin question
does multitap mean
the repeat is at full volume?
the dlab does have it
ive never thought about the definition of multitap
so i always skip over that on the selector
even though i been tryin to get that effect lately
if thats what it really is
am i making any sense right now
edit:hows this.ill try and let you know

Multi-Tap means exactly that.
think about tap tempo... You tap in 1 2 3 4 and the delay goes... 1 2 3 4 if you set it to 1/4 notes yeah?
With Multi Tap you tap in 1 2 3 4
and the you'll have MULTI-ple Taps. 1/4 notes mixed with dotted 1/8ths and 16th notes or whatever you program it to have.
Things like the old RE-201 space echo had tape heads at different positions from the record head meaning one head was a 1/4 note away another was a 1/16th note etc.
If you play a note it ends up doing something like this
Pluck....--> Delay Line 1--------Delay Line 2------Delay Line 3-----Delay Line 4------Out
This looks kinda like stacking delay pedals doesn't it? Because that's kind of what it is. BUT, the output of all the delay lines is in the feedback path so your 2nd 3rd and 4th delay lines can feed back into eachother and that's what makes that multi-tap wash out effect when you let it go on and on and on and onnnnnnnn. until you just get a kind of WUB WUB WUB WUB WUB delay noise.
I probably did a shitty job of explaining this. I am sorry.

wat
The multi tap mode simply lets you dial in the exact amount of repeats you want.

and now i know where i saw it

ugh now I miss my SMMH
I think I didn't like it cos I was hoping for something to cover all delay/looper needs (the loop function itself sucks but it's cool how you can filter the loop and change the pitch/speed)
You can get awesome reverse reverb using the multi-tap mode too, it's definitely something more delays need
