This should spark interest in the noise-minded fuzzheads around here.
It's the Centennial of The Art of Noises, the noise music manifesto by the Italian futurist Luigi Russolo. The manifest is brief and enthusiastic - a nice literal snack. Russolo coined the term noise as it is understood in the musical context and he designed an acoustic noise instrument of his own, intonarumori, that was used in his compositions, with phonographs. The guy also came up with a new type of musical notation which some of You may be already familiar with (in form or another).
