Has anyone on the board got a Mellowtone Wolf Computer fuzz? If so, how do you like it? What's it best for?

Ultra crunchy fuzz...cool octave down glitch fuzz...and some overdrive!

Just got mine (thanks Tom and, of course, Eric). In a word, unbelievable!
In more than a word, it's a super versatile pedal with lots of screaming fuzz, lush overdrives, dying battery and out-of-control Atari sounds, as well as some mysterious untypical tones in between. I really, really like it.

Just ordered mine, I'm super excited. They are gonna be so expensive in two years.

according to fuzzhugger.com, they should be in stock in a couple of weeks
any reason why these will be expensive in two years? should I be sure to get mine now?

Yep, I've spoken with Tom 'bout that... but I was hoping there was some secret stash of Wolf Computers out there so I could snatch one up!
That's o.k., though... I'll wait...
Actually, a couple more weeks is probably good... that's a couple more weeks that I can use to actually raise the ca$$$$h needed!

Agreed. Hoping they're still a lil while off because I'm flat broke at the moment
I've already bought 3 pedals this month and Jan. is only half over...

Okay, so I definitely want a wolf computer now...is there any way to pre order one? I couldn't find anything at fuzzhugger...do I just have to wait 1 and 1/2 to 2 weeks and hope that I can snatch one up before they're all gone?

Well, mine will be on its way whenever they get them (next week?), and it also appears that the wolf computer has gone up $10 since last year. I still think it's a bargain.

I knew the price looked a bit higher...still totally worth it.
Must resist urge to buy more pedals...need to save up for the new mark V

I'd definitely say the Wolf Computer is worth the wait.
There's something for everyone

- subtle dirty boost, to overdrive and crunchy distortion tones, and further to thick ever-so-slightly synthy fuzz. Very classic and versatile.
Then with the Bias up on its highest settings, it sounds almost like a messy version of the US.
There's also a tiny area where the Sag control makes any regular sound really noisy, nasty and unpredictable (in a great way); before that there's weird oscillation, low octave stuff, and "motorboating".
Chance plays a role too - you happen across an amazing setting but it will probably be a little bit different every other time you try to recreate it. Granted, this might not suit everyone, but to me that's completely part of what makes it great.
