So ive been painting an enclosure and using two different colours for the two different pieces two different brands

now there both gloss enamel paints but one colour (black) turned out nice and shiny how you would expect it to be but the blue colour doesnt seem to have that same kind of shine even though its a gloss
i did 5 coats of each and the blue kind seems matte

being that its gloss blue would spraying it with a clear gloss on top give me that shine? or would i have to do insane layers of it ?

has anyone else had this problem with paints

also possible silly question.. but do people buff the enclosure after ? :idk:

As long as they're the same type of paint, you should be able to clear over it and get it all at the same shine, but you might want to sand it a bit first. Like, with super fine sand paper (1000 grit or so).

If you have enough paint on, and it's cured pretty strong, you could also polish it up. Wet sand with increasingly fine sandpaper, then polish... but that's kinda more work.
